The ethics of unfinished mugs
Desk geology, reheated betrayal, and the mug that thought it was a promise.
The problem is not drinking too much coffee. The problem is starting too many coffees and then getting hired by a notification. Unfinished Seven believes every mug is a promise. The mugs believe they have been abandoned.
A desk with seven cups is not a personality. It is a timeline. The hot one is now. The lukewarm one is a meeting that should have been an email. The microwave one is optimism performing archaeology.
Reheating coffee oxidises the joke. You can drink it. You should not respect it. A busser — or a Café Squatter offering to fetch one — is help. Help will be declined. A new cup will be born.
Ethical position, such as it is: one mug in motion. Finish or compost. Do not open a second front unless the first has gone cold for reasons of war, not Slack.
The comic is funny because it is a kitchen. The ethics are funny because they are a calendar.
