Pour-over as a religion

The Pour-Over Phantom appears when the kettle hits 96°C. A goose-neck is tribute. A blade grinder in earshot is a heresy. They have never rushed a bloom and never will.

Bloom is not theatre for Instagram, though it photographs like incense. CO₂ leaves, grounds wet, the timer keeps hymn time. Concentric circles are a way to not drown one side of the bed. The carafe is shared with nobody because the ritual is the caffeine.

Espresso Goblin thinks ritual is what happens after the shot. The Phantom thinks ritual is the shot, stretched into three minutes of weather. Both are correct inside their temples. Neither should operate the other’s kettle without a translator.

If you are in a hurry, the Goblin will help you. If you are in a mood, the Phantom will make you a concentric circle and a slightly better person. Speed is a different religion. Convert only on purpose.
